WebBernard Formation was one of these in situ Cretaceous deposits (Jones, 1960a; Dickinson and Thayer, 1978; Orr et al., 1992). The formation is nearly 500 m thick and consists predominantly of yellowish-brown, calcareous and limonitic pebbly sandstone that grades locally to sandy conglomerate (Dickinson and Vigrass, 1965).
