WebAug 16, 2006 · I have a 5 1/2 yr old Bradford White Gas hot water heater. The pilot lights fine, stays lit --> turn gas to on and burner lights. When water reaches temp and burner goes out so does pilot. Replaced thermocoupler, no change. Almost appears as if thermocoupler is getting to hot.
